§  The Tara commando Force is an independent unit of our school raised by respected  Shrimant Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj in the year 1998. This is Maharaja’s dream project to impart military training to the girls in the school to make them bold enough to take calculated risks in life and to achieve their goals.


§  The name TARA is conferred in the name of the great RANRAGINI MAHARANI TARARANI who ascended the throne of the princely state of Kolhapur. Maharaj has taken initiative to form the infrastructure for the training and equipment of the TCF.


§  The selection of girls is done on the basis of their physical and intellectual standards. After selection the cadets are train in Drill, Physical training ,Map reading and more emphasis is given on Adventure Training.


§  Every year TCF organizes various camps for the cadets. This year our 42 cadets attended the Annual Training Camp held at MANALI (HP). The cadets carried out Adventure activities like Zummering, Rock- Climbing , Rappelling, Trekking, Paragliding, River crossing,Rafting etc. A small entertainment program was arranged by the cadets.


§  A four days camp was held at PANHALA where in the cadets were trained in Zummering , Rappelling, Flying Fox, Drill etc. A night trek was arranged from Ambarkhana to Masai pattar under the guidance of Shri. Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj . Cadets enjoyed playing games such as Cricket, Football etc. A small cultural program was arranged by the cadets.


§  Along with the camps, the school takes keen interest  to organize visits to different Army Training Centres and Units. Our cadets visited THE MARATHA LIGHT INFANTARY REGIMENT at BELGAUM. During this visit cadets acquired information about Inspirational History and brave stories of the Maratha Regiment. The Soldiers of the Regiment demonstrated various war activities and Army Routine Activities such as AMBUSH, DISASTER MANAGEMENT, RIFLE SHOOTING etc.The Head of the Regiment Brigadier Santosh Kurup addressed and interacted with our cadets and gave them a guideline about Armed Forces.


§  A visit to NCC Bhavan was also an Informative treat for the cadets. This visit was very memorable as it included Tree plantation, Weapon Training , Map Reading etc. An Inspirational Speech was given by Commandig Officer COL. Prashant Pawar of 56 MH BTN NCC.


§  On the Occasion of Raksha bandhan, Our TCF cadets tied Rakhi’s to the Jawans and some Rakhi’s were sent to the Jawans at the Border.


§  Under National Road Safety Abhiyaan Assitant Police INS. Ramesh Narayan Khune visited our school and created traffic rule awareness among TCF cadets, through  his lecture and Power-point Presentation.


§  Our TCF cadets attended the Republic Day Parade at SHAHU STADIUM also participated in the ralley of MATADAN JANAJAGRUTI MOHIM to spread the awareness of voting and its benefits among the people.


§  All these activities collectively help our cadets to give better performances wherever they go.


§  All the above results are possible due to the strong support of Shrimant CHH. Shahu Maharaj, RES. Director Mrs. Rajshree Patil, 

   Principal Mrs. Padma Mungurwadi, and other hardworking Instructors like Mrs. Monali Patil, Mrs. Apurva Karekar.
